XFunnel: the AEO platform HubSpot agreed to acquire in 2025

XFunnel was an answer engine optimization (AEO) platform founded by Neri Bluman and Beeri Amiel that measured brand visibility across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, Copilot and Grok, and paired it with experiments and analyst support. On October 31, 2025 HubSpot announced an agreement to acquire XFunnel and said it would be integrated natively into HubSpot's marketing products. The XFunnel site still lists a free one-time audit and a custom-priced Enterprise plan, but its sign-up buttons now read "Get updates".

What XFunnel does

  • AI query research by intent, region, persona and product
  • Visibility, share of voice and sentiment tracking
  • Response and citation analysis
  • Experimentation platform with optimization playbooks
  • Dedicated analyst and weekly strategy meetings
  • Google Analytics referral tracking and bot detection

What XFunnel was

XFunnel described its mission as bringing "transparency to the black box of AI search". It was founded by Neri Bluman and Beeri Amiel and sold mainly to marketing and SEO teams at software companies; testimonials on its site come from teams at Cato Networks, HiBob, monday.com and MyHeritage. Its About page reports 1,500 companies analyzed, 5M+ responses collected and 25M+ citations analyzed.

The pitch was "Another dashboard? Nope." XFunnel paired its platform with a dedicated analyst, weekly meetings and tailored playbooks, and it emphasized experimentation: running controlled changes and measuring their effect on AI visibility.

The HubSpot acquisition

On October 31, 2025, HubSpot announced it had entered into an agreement to acquire XFunnel, calling it one of the first comprehensive platforms that helps businesses monitor, experiment with and strengthen their presence across LLMs. HubSpot said XFunnel would be integrated natively into its marketing products, building on AEO features already in Marketing Hub. XFunnel's own blog carried the same news under the headline "XFunnel joins HubSpot to build the future of marketing". HubSpot's announcement did not state a price.

Since then, the XFunnel website has stayed online but its calls to action read "Sign up for updates" and "Get updates", and the most recent blog post is the acquisition notice. For HubSpot's own AI search tooling, see our page on the HubSpot AEO Grader.

Plans and engines

The pricing page still shows two tiers:

  • Free Starter: a $0 one-time audit of 50 search queries in one language and one region, on ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, with community support.
  • Enterprise: custom pricing, unlimited queries with daily monitoring across ChatGPT, ChatGPT with browsing, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Grok (Meta AI and DeepSeek listed as coming soon). It added Google Analytics referral tracking, bot detection, content and technical AEO audits, SSO, weekly expert meetings and managed services such as AI-first content, Reddit engagement (through a partner agency) and Wikipedia maintenance.

XFunnel built its query sets by simulating buyer questions from nine data sources, then tracked share of voice, sentiment and AI citations.

Alternatives

If you were evaluating XFunnel and want a standalone tool, Promptwatch and Searchable offer self-serve plans with listed prices. For an enterprise platform with services attached, compare Bluefish or Profound.

XFunnel and GetPicked

XFunnel combined a monitoring platform with analyst-led experiments for larger marketing teams, and is now part of HubSpot. GetPicked is an independent service for smaller companies: a Pick Check (free with an account) across ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok, then copy-ready fixes that a human approves and that are verified after they go live. It does not require a HubSpot account.

GetPicked wrote this page and sells a competing product. Facts above come from XFunnel's own pages, linked below.
