BrightEdge alternatives and competitors for SEO and AI search

BrightEdge competitors compared for AI search: Conductor, Semrush, Ahrefs Brand Radar, Similarweb and GetPicked. Published prices, engines tracked and who each one suits.

Why people look for BrightEdge alternatives

BrightEdge calls itself an AI-powered AEO and SEO platform, "one unified platform to win across Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity". Its AI search layer, AI Catalyst, tracks brand mentions and citations by engine (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini), rates sentiment, maps buyer prompts to the journey and turns gaps into content briefs. Around it sit the classic suite tools: keyword research, site audit, content creation, rank tracking and reporting.

Common reasons buyers compare alternatives:

  • No published pricing. Every product page leads to Request a demo, so cost is a sales conversation.
  • Enterprise scope. The platform is built for large SEO and content teams, with case studies segmented by midsize, enterprise, global and local business. A small team may pay for modules it never opens.
  • A narrower need. Some teams only want AI visibility, not a full SEO suite.

The alternatives

Conductor is the most direct competitor. It describes itself as "the enterprise platform for AI & search visibility", tracking brand presence across ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot and Claude alongside traditional search, with AI content creation, technical site health that watches AI bot crawling, and an agent toolkit called AgentStack. Pricing is through sales, and it offers a free AI visibility report.

Semrush AI Toolkit adds AI visibility to the Semrush suite for $99/month, according to Semrush's knowledge base, which also says there is no free trial. It covers ChatGPT and Google AI Mode with an AI Visibility Score, competitor research, prompt research with volume and difficulty, share of voice and sentiment, and daily prompt tracking.

Ahrefs Brand Radar tracks brand visibility across AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, with Claude available in its AI Visibility Index. Custom Prompts starts at $50/month and is free with a paid Ahrefs Lite plan or above; the AI Visibility Index starts at $199/month. It also monitors YouTube, TikTok and Reddit sources and shows which AI crawlers visit your site.

Similarweb AI Search Intelligence pairs AI Brand Visibility (ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Perplexity) with AI Traffic, which measures visits AI chatbots send to you and to competitors. The AEO Intelligence plan is listed at $99 for one user and 150 prompts, with bundles at $333 and $542 that add SEO, competitive and ad data.

GetPicked is not an SEO suite and does not try to replace one. It runs a Pick Check (free with an account) of how often ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Grok recommend your site and who they pick instead, then provides copy-ready fixes that are verified after they go live, with an optional done-with-you Fix Pack. A human approves every change. It fits a small company that wants to be recommended by AI engines without buying enterprise software.

How to choose

  1. Enterprise team, full suite needed: compare BrightEdge and Conductor side by side in demos, and ask each for pricing in writing.
  2. Already pay for Semrush, Ahrefs or Similarweb: try their AI add-on first. Check which engines each covers, since none of the three lists the same set.
  3. Small team, AI answers are the goal: start with a free check of where you stand today, then fix the pages and sources that decide the answer. AI citations and entity SEO usually matter more than another rank report.
  4. Measure the same way over time. Whatever you pick, track a fixed set of buyer questions so changes in AI share of voice mean something.
