Showit sitemap and SEO for AI search: siteinfo.xml, blog and robots
A Showit site is two systems: drag-and-drop pages built in the Showit Design App, and an optional WordPress blog that Showit hosts. Pages get an automatic sitemap at /siteinfo.xml; the blog gets its own from Yoast or Jetpack, so most sites need two sitemaps in Search Console. Showit documents no robots.txt editor or llms.txt feature for pages; on blog plans, the WordPress side is where those files come from.
- Edit robots.txt
- PartlyNo robots.txt editor is documented for Showit pages. Per page, the Ask Google To Ignore This Page option controls indexing. On blog plans, robots.txt is served by WordPress.
- XML sitemap
- YesShowit generates a sitemap of your pages when you publish. A WordPress blog needs a second one from Yoast (/sitemap_index.xml) or Jetpack (/sitemap.xml).
/siteinfo.xml - llms.txt
- With a plugin or appNothing built in for Showit pages. On a Showit blog plan, a WordPress SEO plugin can generate it; showit.com itself serves an llms.txt from All in One SEO.
- AI crawlers
- No AI-specific setting documented. Showit's help articles cover search indexing only.
- Structured data
- No structured data settings are documented. Add JSON-LD through Custom Head HTML on a page, or site-wide through Site Settings > Integrations > Add Custom Code.
Two sitemaps: siteinfo.xml and the blog
Showit generates a sitemap of your Showit pages every time you publish, at yourdomain.com/siteinfo.xml. That is the main answer to "where is my Showit sitemap", and it is not at /sitemap.xml as on most builders.
If you blog, the blog is a separate WordPress install that Showit hosts and manages, and it needs its own sitemap:
- Yoast SEO (Showit's preferred option):
yourdomain.com/sitemap_index.xml. On the Basic Starter Blog it comes preinstalled and you activate it; on the Advanced Blog you install it from Plugins. - Jetpack: go to Jetpack > Settings > Traffic, turn on Generate XML Sitemaps, and use
yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml.
To submit, open your property in Google Search Console, click Sitemaps, enter siteinfo.xml, submit, then repeat for the blog sitemap. Showit's help says that if you do not see a success message, contact support and ask them to be added to your Search Console so they can check.
Indexing and robots.txt on Showit
Showit's main indexing control is per page. In the Design App, select the page name, open Advanced Settings in the right panel, and check Ask Google To Ignore This Page. Showit's indexing guide warns that if it is ticked on every page, nothing gets indexed. Each page also has Page Title, Meta Description and Share Image fields; Showit does not copy your homepage settings to other pages.
Showit's help center does not document how to view or edit robots.txt. On showit.com, which is itself Showit-hosted with a WordPress blog, robots.txt holds WordPress rules (Disallow: /wp-admin/) plus a crawl delay and sitemap lines. That suggests the blog side serves it on blog plans, but Showit has not confirmed this, so test your own with the robots.txt checker.
AI crawlers and llms.txt
Showit has no AI crawler setting. Nothing in its docs blocks GPTBot, ClaudeBot or other AI crawlers by default.
There is no llms.txt feature for Showit pages. Showit's own site serves /llms.txt, generated by All in One SEO Pro on its WordPress blog. On the Advanced Blog plan most of the WordPress plugin library is available (Showit disables a few that duplicate its features), so a WordPress SEO plugin that writes llms.txt is the practical route. Yoast, which Showit already recommends for blog SEO, has an llms.txt toggle in its settings, including in the free plugin. Check the output with the llms.txt checker.
Adding structured data
Showit has no schema settings. To add JSON-LD to one page, select the page name, open Advanced Settings, click Custom Head HTML, paste the script and save. For site-wide Organization markup, use Site Settings > Integrations > + Add Custom Code and apply it through your Site Canvas Sets. Publish afterwards, or the code will not go live.

Questions
- Where is my Showit sitemap?
- Your Showit pages are at yourdomain.com/siteinfo.xml, generated automatically when you publish. If you have a Showit blog, its posts are in a separate WordPress sitemap: sitemap_index.xml with Yoast, or sitemap.xml with Jetpack. Submit both in Google Search Console.
- Why are my Showit pages not in Google?
- Check each page's Advanced Settings in the right panel. If Ask Google To Ignore This Page is selected, that page will not be indexed, and if it is selected on every page, nothing will be. Then confirm both sitemaps are submitted.
- Can I edit robots.txt on Showit?
- Showit's help center does not document a robots.txt editor for Showit pages. On showit.com, a Showit-hosted site with a blog, robots.txt contains WordPress rules, which suggests the blog side serves it. Ask Showit support before relying on custom rules.
- Does Showit support llms.txt?
- Not as a Showit feature. Showit's own site serves an llms.txt generated by All in One SEO Pro on its WordPress blog. On the Advanced Blog plan most WordPress plugins are available, so an SEO plugin with an llms.txt option is the likely route.
